“Lifelong Westfield” is Focus of Senior Services Expo, November 16
Lifelong Westfield, a new town initiative to attract and retain seniors, will be the focus of a Senior Services Expo on Friday, November 16, from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Community Room of the Westfield Municipal Building, 425 E. Broad Street. The event is free and a light breakfast will be served. Senior citizens, family members and caregivers are encouraged to attend.
The Senior Services Expo will promote local non-profit organizations and businesses that cater to the senior market, including transportation, health, counseling and more. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about Lifelong Westfield and to participate in a survey aimed at determining the needs of the senior community.
Lifelong Westfield is a new initiative of the Mayor’s Senior Advisory Council, a volunteer group that includes representatives of the Westfield Town Council, Westfield United Fund, Westfield Senior Citizens Housing, a geriatric physician, and other volunteers. The organization aims to help residents “age in place” by serving as a centralized clearinghouse for activities and services that help seniors and their caregivers.
