“Docs and Dialogue”

As we prepare in December to once again commemorate the birth of a child - Jesus - who would become the embodiment of God’s essence, what better time to watch the highly acclaimed 2018 documentary about the man we know as “Mister Rogers”, “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?”. For over thirty years, “Mister Rogers Neighborhood”, starring Fred Rogers, an unassuming minister, writer and producer, spoke directly to children about some of life’s most difficult issues in a simple, direct way. But while he may be best known as a soft spoken, cardigan-wearing television character, Rogers work was a sustained attempt to promote a “radical kindness” amidst changing circumstances in the society and world around him.
