“Docs and Dialogue” "Double feature" on the current opioid crisis in the United States.

“Docs and Dialogue” 7:00pm in Patton Auditorium

The next “Docs and Dialogue”, FCC’s new series of documentary film viewing and discussion, will take place on Tuesday, March 5 at 7pm in Patton Auditorium. On that night, we will see a “double feature” on the current opioid crisis in the United States.

First up will be “Understanding the Opioid Epidemic”, a 60-minute PBS production which traces the overlapping causes that have culminated in the explosive growth of opioid addiction and deaths throughout the country over the past two decades. Then, we will view the 40-minute Academy and Emmy Award nominated “Heroin(e)”, a stark portrayal of three women - one a fire chief, one the founder of a non-profit, and the third a judge - working on the front lines of the epidemic in Huntington, West Virginia, where the overdose rate is ten times the national average.
