What is the soul?  How should we respond to the divine?  Does life continue after death?

Archaeological and historical records show that even the earliest humans experienced awareness of a spiritual realm and began to develop religious ideas and practices in response. In fact, the spiritual impulse seems so powerfully pervasive in us that neuroscience has posed a provocative question: Are our brains wired for faith?

Join us as we examine topics such as:  “The Brain and Religious Rituals”; “The Biology of Spiritual Practices”; “Religion and Physical/Mental Health”; and “Why God Won’t Go Away” through a video course lead by Dr. Andrew Newberg, who serves as Director of Research at the Myra Brand Center of Integrative Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital (Philadelphia), along with teaching at the University of Pennsylvania.
