IT'S SUMMER! So that can only mean an awesome week of music, games, drama, crafts and FUN is headed to First Congregational Church. Vacation Bible School is a great way to connect with friends and have a ball while learning about Jesus' message for each of us. Kids ages 4 through 4th grade will form small groups and join forces in Hero Headquarters!
At Hero Headquarters, children will discover unnamed heroes from the Bible who, although they did not have super powers, were used by God to do wonderful things!
When is VBS?
Monday, July 19 through Friday, July 23 from 6 until 8 pm.
Who Can Come to VBS?
Children ages 4 through 4th grade are welcome to join us! Children will be assigned to a small group, or crew, led by an adult or teen volunteer leader.
How Does VBS Work?
Everyone meets in the Sanctuary for a time of music and a brief introduction to the evening's Bible Point. Then, the smaller crews will head off with their leader, visiting each of the Hero Headquarter stations:
- Amazing Bible Heroes: Experience the evening's Bible Story in a hands-on way. Discuss the story and find out how to apply it to real life.
- Power Projects: Participate in a service project and make crafts that remind us of the Bible story and message.
- Hero HQ: Apply the power of the daily Bible point in skits and dramatic activities.
- Action Games & Super Snack: Play games that connect to the Bible story while enjoying a little snack.
The crews will then meet back up in the sanctuary to conclude the evening with songs, dance and a challenge to consider overnight.
On Friday evening, the children will perform the songs and skits they have learned during their visit to Hero Headquarters. The performance is followed by an informal reception.
Is there a cost and How do I sign up?
We charge $15.00 per child, to a family maximum of $30.00. This covers our cost for curriculum and supplies throughout the week. To sign up, print a VBS Application Form (.pdf), complete it, and mail it to the church office with your check:
