God the Cherisher

There is a love that asks nothing of you. That needs nothing from you. That simply, completely, cherishes you. This Sunday we explore agape — the Greek word for the love of God that cherishes not because of what you do or who you are, but simply because you are. A love that doesn't wait for worthiness, that doesn't run dry, that has never once let you go. And on a Sunday when our culture marks Mother's Day in all its complexity, joy, and grief, that Love may just be exactly what we need.
